Baptism & First Eucharist of Easter
This ancient and mysterious service welcomes the Risen Christ in the midst of darkness. We will kindle the new fire and light the Easter (Paschal) Candle, hear the story of God’s liberating work in history through biblical stories, welcome a new person into the household of faith by baptism and recall our own baptismal promises. Then we will shout “Alleluia, Christ is Risen” and ring in the Resurrection (bring a bell!) and celebrate the first Eucharist of Easter. A pot luck reception follows this service.
Easter Sunday, March 27
8 and 10 a.m. Choral Festival Eucharist
The choir will lead us in singing Alleluias at both 8 and 10 a.m. services, as we rejoice in all the ways that God brings life and hope out of death and Christ is with us, calling us to witness to God’s reconciling love and to serve in Jesus’ name.
